Arthur Rackham self-portrait with his rendering of Peter PanBorn in London in 1867, from the late 1890s to the late 1930's, Arthur Rackham was one of the most prolific illustrators in the world. Working both in color and black and white. His rather dark, detailed style was well suited to fairy tales, and indeed he was able to have a crack at most of what we consider the classics.
