Jeremy Fisher polingFrog goes fishing, almost becomes a meal!

Jeremy Fisher is a fine frog with with distinguished friends, a house by the pond and a taste for minnows. Intending to host a fancy dinner, he goes fishing. He digs up some worms and sets out on his boat (a lily pad).

Fishing is not an entirely safe endeavor for a frog. There may be rats hiding among the reeds, and the first fish he catches is not a minnow but a stickleback, covered with sharp spines. Ouch! His second catch, though, catches him. It's a huge trout who dives and swallows Jeremy, only to discover he doesn't much like the taste of Jeremy's raincoat.

Mr. Fisher swims to shore, and goes home to prepare a less fancy dinner than he'd intended. But oh, what a fish story he'll have!

Like The Tale of Peter Rabbit, The Tale of Jeremy Fisher is a story of courting danger in search of food!
