Dreamer of Fables, Teller of Stories, Artist of Both....

Karen Standal is a black and white line artist who, as a little girl, adored the illustrations of Jessie M. King, Arthur Rackham and W. Heath Robinson.

She learned to draw as a young girl from Katy Keene comics, as well as Brenda Starr.

Karen went on to receive her B.S. in Art Education at the University of North Dakota.

Married, with three daughters and a son, she drew, wrote and told stories to her children. Fifteen years ago she decided to volunteer at her children's school as a storyteller, and she hasn't looked back.
