heading out to playTeaching kids not to lie.

Timbo thinks he gets better outcomes when he tells his parents what they want to hear. "Did you wash your hands?" "Did you walk the dog?" Timbo knows what to say to minimize his hassle. In fact, he's started lying at school too. And when a ball he hits damages someone's car, Timbo starts lying to strangers too.

Fibbing has become a habit. A habit that works.

When his parents start catching on though, Timbo starts to experience what a lack of trust feels like. It's a sad, hopeless feeling.

Then something surprising happens. When he finally reveals the truth about the neighbor's car, he isn't punished. In fact, his parents praise him, and the neighbor sends him cookies!

How Timbo Learned that Telling the Truth Really Does Work is one of our Behavior Books--downloadable stories that help your child tackle a problem behavior. The stories help your child feel less alone by introducing a character with a problem similar to your child's own. When the child in the book conquers the problem behavior, your child is inspired to do so too! Because the books are meant to be colored, your child is guaranteed prolonged exposure to the story's message.

And guess what: we're offering two for the price of one. (Because what child has only one problem behavior!)

We really love this book.  I printed it and put it in a folder for my daughter.  She really enjoyed illustrating each page.  She thinks the story is funny and loves to read it over and over!
